My blogging skills are lame, I know.
But life has been busy! I've been creating and studying and working and making yummy things to eat!
A recent trip to the fabric store left me with four sets of Pajamas to make... perhaps not the brightest decision, but I'll survive. I just hope I can make my nieces their sets before they grow out of them!
For valentine's day, I picked up a set to make chocolates.... and boy was it fun! seriously, if you want a quick, easy way to make a pretty treat for loved ones, I highly recommend you buy a candy making kit. I don't remember it being quite so easy as a kid.... we used a double broiler, not the microwave.... but the end result looks and tastes the same. If I pick this one up, I may have to invest in some flavorings, as white chocolate is just not one of my faves. I digress: the Wilton kits retail for around $20 and include chocolates, sucker sticks and baggies, a paintbrush, and a few molds. A great deal when you add each up separately!
And this weekend I made some tasty food... but I'll save that for another post, cos there are pictures. I finally found a butternut squash recipe I adore! as in I probably need to make more soon and stockpile it in the freezer for future indulgence. It's creamy, it has a lot of flavor, and it has to be healthier for ya then I thought butternut squash could be! Complete with carrots, celery, leeks, squash, basil, etc. More details to come.
Just wanted you to know I was thinking of you, and even J was encouraging me to get back into this: "You should take pictures to put on your blog!"
And to offer up another teaser, I am putting the finishing touches on a gift I am sewing. It's a little intimidating! It's no where near as nice-looking as the store bought items, but making it with love counts for something, right?
See ya soon,
d.
